While us punters might like to think we’re the most important part of the movie equation (after all, we collectively pay for them), it puts things into perspective when our very first look at the logo for next year’s mega-budget Green Lantern movie actually comes from the consumer products department of Warner, which is trying to get companies to buy the merchandising rights.
Nevertheless, it is the first Green Lanter poster and our first look at the logo and symbol that’s likely to become more ubiquitous as we geter nearer the June 17th, 2011 release. We can just pretend it was released for us to get excited about the DC Comics movie, and not to try and attract McDonalds to make Green Lantern Happy Meals. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as test pilot Hal Jordan, who becomes the first human member of the intergalactic Green Lantern corps, after mastering a ring that grants him superpowers.
