Bruce Willis, who seems to be taking over Gene Hackman’s role as the most prolific actor in Hollywood, is circling a new flick called The Tomb, and it may reunite him with Tears Of The Sun director Antoine Fuqua.
According to Deadline, the film, written by Miles Chapman and Jason D. Keller, is about Ray Breslin (Willis), a security expert who gets framed for a crime he didn’t commit (does anyone ever actually get locked up for a crime they did commit in a movie?) and is sent to a high-tech prison that’s said to be almost impossible to escape from. However Ray helped to design the jail, and with his inside knowledge he plots to get out and find the man resposible for framing him.
It all sounds a bit Prison Break to me, but as long as Willis doesn’t have the plans for the jail tattooed onto him, it’s a decent, if generic, enough premise for a movie.
As for the news Antoine Fuqua is circling to direct, I’d take that with a pinch of salt at the moment. That’s not because he isn’t interested, but because he tends to flirt with a hell of a lot of films before finally deciding which one he wants to make. So until he and Willis are on the set, there’s no guarantee it’s gonna happen.
