If there’s one film in competition in Cannes that’s so far garnered more attention than any other it’s Alejandro González Iñárritu’s (Babel) Biutiful, in which Javier Bardem plays Uxbal, a survivor at the invisible margins in todays Barcelona, who tries to reconcile with love and save his children, as he tries to save himself. Involved in illegal dealing, his life changes when he is confronted by his childhood friend, who is now a policeman. The likes of THR have described it as the stand-out movie amongst a shallow crowd at the French festival, with many expecting it to pick up the Palm D’Or. Now a promo trailer has shown up online. It may be incredibly brief and not tell us much, but it gives us our first look at the film. Click below to watch.
