Although she isn’t really known for comedy (in fact she tends to be ridiculously po-faced in all her roles), Jennifer Connelly could be heading into chucklesome territory, with Deadline reporting that she’s been offered a role in Ron Howard’s upcoming movie, Cheaters (at least that’s what it’s currently known as, although that title isn’t yet official). She’ll join Vince Vaughn, Kevin James and Winona Ryder in the film, which starts shooting soon.
The film sees Vaughn’s character discover that the wife (Ryder) of his best friend (James) has been cheating with another man. He then becomes torn as to whether to tell his mate about the infidelity or not.
Although that sounds like the premise for a hi-jinks, wacky comedy, Howard has been fairly serious of late and the script is by Allan Loeb, who wrote Things We Lost In The Fire and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. It suggests we may be getting a more thoughtful movie than you might expect, although perhaps both Loeb and Howard just wanna have a bit of a blow-out after all the seriousness.
