Although Woody Allen is renowned for not publicly telling anyone about his films until they’re near completion – he only announced the title of his new movie, You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, after he’d shot it – he’s come forward to reveal a few more details on the movie he’s planning to shoot this summer.
We already knew it would star Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard and the French President’s wife, Carla Bruni, and now we can add Michael Sheen, Kathy Bates, Nina Amanda, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Scott, Mimi Kennedy and Kurt Fuller to the list.
According to Variety, the film is called Midnight In Paris and follows a family travelling to the city for business, including a young engaged couple who have their lives tranformed during the movie. It explores ‘a young man’s great love for the city, and simultaneously the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better’.
The reason Woody is being unusually forthcoming is because they’re hoping to sell distribution rights to the film at Cannes next month, where Allen has You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger showing out of competition.
