Steven Soderbergh is certainly good at convincing a lot of famous people to to appear in his movies. He’s currently filming Knockout, with has everyone from Ewan McGregor and Antonio Baderas to Channing Tatum and Michael Fassbender in it.
Then, only last week, it was announced that he was also planning to make Contagion, which already had Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Marion Cotillard lined up to star. Deadline Hollywood now sayd that Gwyneth Paltrow has joined the throng, although there’s no news on what role she might play.
The film itself is described as following multiple plotlines, in the style of Soderbergh’s Traffic, detailing what happens after the outbreak of a deadly disease, with the action spread across four continents.
The movie is yet to finish finding finanacing. Although it ihas some of the cash, it needs someone else to come along and put up the rest of the $60 million budget. Apparently there are plenty of interested parties, so deals are expected to be struck soon.
