I know I’m probably the only one, but any mention of Sarah Polley still makes me think of Ramona, the late 80s Canadian kid’s show that was shown over here in the UK. Polley was only nine at the time, so I really should get over it, but seeing her always makes me nostalgic for my childhood (especially as she also starred in Baron Munchausen).
Now of course she’s a grown up and extremely good actress, taking roles in the likes of the Dawn Of The Dead remake and the upcoming Splice. Polley also won plaudits as the writer/director of the Oscar nominated 2006 movie, Away From Her.
Now she’s planning her next directorial adventure, Take This Waltz, and according to Deadline Hollywood, she’s got Seth Rogen and Michelle Williams to sign up to star in it.
Take This Waltz is a romantic triangle about a young woman who struggles with her infidelities and the budding realisation that she may be addicted to the honeymoon period of her relationships. The script made the 2009 Black List of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood.
Williams will reportedly play the lead character of Margot in the movie, while Seth Rogen will be one of the male leads. The person playing the other member of the triangle is yet to be announced. Production is expected to start in Toronto in July.
