Teresa Palmer Cast In Mad Max: Fury Road? – Plus Pitt and Damon join Happy Feet 2

16th January 2010 By Tim Isaac

Although we can’t exactly count this as an official announcement, it seems Aussie actress Teresa Palmer may have been lined up to star in George Miller’s upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road.

While being interviewed about How To Train Your Dragon, Jay Baruchel, who stars with Palmer in the upcoming The Sorceror’s Apprentice, told The Herald Sun that “She’s the main chick in Fury Road.” I think we can assume ‘main chick’ won’t be her character’s name though.

Baruchel added, “She’s going to be there for over a year. It’s really, really cool.”

Assuming the news is true, what isn’t known is whether Palmer will be an additional main chick to Charlize Theron’s character, or whether Teresa has replaced the South African actress. As things stand though, Tom Hardy is still lined up to play Max.

It’s not that surprising that Miller would cast Palmer though, as he’d given her a role in his planned Justice League Of America movie before that film got cancelled a couple of years ago.

Although Miller seems to enjoy keeping Fury Road shrouded in secrecy, there are also current rumours that the film will be in 3D and that production has now begun on the movie.

In further George Miller news, there’s been new voice cast announced for his other main current production – Happy Feet 2. Movieline is reporting that Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have signed up for the film, and will join original voice cast members, Elijah Wood and Robin Williams. Happy Feet 2 is currently set for release at the end of 2011.
