Today seems to be the day for first look images from upcoming films, with a slew of pics from the likes of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Your Highness and MacGruber released as part of Universal Picture’s 2010 preview. Plus I’ve also posted new pics from Alice In Wonderland and Kevin Smith’s Cop Out, so take a look below to see them all.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is Edgar Wright’s much anticipated comic book movie starring Michael Cera, about a young man who must protect his new girlfriend from her evil ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart. Although some slightly dodgy pics from the film have shown up online before, we now have the first official images. Scott Pilgrim will be out later this year.
MacGruber is based on a series a of SNL sketches about a MacGyver like secret agent who believes he can use any materials lying around to get himself out of trouble, but usually can’t. The film features Will Forte, who originated the character on the small screen, alongside Val Kilmer, Ryan Phillippe and Kristen Wiig. MacGruber is due out in the spring.
Your Highness is one of the most intriguing film of 2010. It basically sounds like a cross between Shrek and The Princess Bride, with Danny McBride as a lazy prince who has to team up with his far more heroic brother (James Franco) in order to save his bride-to-be (Zooey Dechanel) after she’s kidnapped by an evil wizard. They also get joined by an elusive warrior, played by Natalie Portman, along the way. The David Gordon Green fantasy film will arrive in cinemas in the autumn.
And just because I can, I thought I’d chuck in a new pic from Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, due out on March 5th, which makes you wonder how much they paid Johnny Depp, just so they could cake him in so much makeup that he’s unrecognisable. It’s actually the first in-movie shot we’ve had of the Mad Hatter. There’s also a fresh image from Kevin Smith’s Cop Out, starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis, for you to enjoy.
