There’s been a fair amount of interest in Disney upcoming Rapunzel, as not only is it the company’s first attempt at doing a classic fairytale in CG, but it’s been described as trying to bring the look and warmth of the studio’s hand-drawn animated classics into a 3D CGI environment. However so far no footage has been released and we’ve only had concept images, some of which came from an earlier incarnation of the movie when it was called Rapunzel Unbraided (since then its had new directors and a complete revamp).
Now a new pic has emerged, which disneypixar.fr scanned from French movie magazine Studio Cinelive. Although the image isn’t the most amazing quality, you can certainly see what they’re trying to do with Rapunzel, as it certainly looks far more like a painting than it does computer graphics.
Disney’s Rapunzel is a retooling of the fariytale and sees Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), escaping from her infamous tower and going on the run with a dashing bandit, voiced by Zachary Levi. The film is due out in the US on November 24th, 2010, and will hopefully arrive in the UK around the same time.
