Does the Iron Man 2 trailer gives us spoilers about Black Widow’s role in the movie? Well, if you don’t know what they might be, don’t read anymore!
POSSIBLE SPOILERS: MTV has noticed that in the recently released trailer you briefly get to see something that’s been hidden in previous official images of Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson). If you look at the pic above, which is taken from the trailer, you’ll see a patch sewn onto her left upper arm. It appears to be the insignia of S.H.I.E.L.D (compare it to the image below), suggesting that rather than the being out to assassinate Tony Stark, which many presumed would be her mission in the film, Black Widow will actually be working for Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). It suggests she’ll be Iron Man’s ally rather than foe, although, of course, there’s no guarantee that she won’t switch allegiances at some point.
At the moment this is all assumption based on that patch on her arm, but it is very suggestive, especially as Johansson has signed up for multiple Marvel movies and is likely to pop up in The Avengers. We’ll be able to find out exactly whether Black Widow is hero or villain, or perhaps a bit of both, when the film hits the UK on April 30th.
