Here’s a bit of a surprise. Despite original 1980s A-Team stars Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict having confirmed they’ll make cameo appearances in the upcoming big-screen update of the classic TV series, the other main surviving star, B.A. Baracus, has confirmed he won’t be popping up in the movie.
Latino Review caught up with the mohawked actor, who told them that even before he was asked, he’d already decided against it, feeling it wouldn’t be right for him to do it. Although he has nothing against the new movie, he couldn’t see the point of popping up in the film if his Mr. T isn’t the main man. He also wasn’t keen on the idea of the studio marketing the film on his appearance, if he didn’t have a major role.
To be honest it’s a real surprise, as if he’s up for advertising Snickers and World Of Warcraft, you’d think he’d jump at the chance to revisit his greatest role, but apparently not.
The new A-Team movie has Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley and Quinton Jackson taking over the iconic roles of the team who escaped prison after being locked up for a crime they didn’t commit and who then travel around in their black van as wandering good-guy mercenaries for hire.
Oh, and unsurprisingly the fourth original A-Team star, George Peppard, won’t be making a cameo in the film either, as he’s inconveniently dead.
