Numerous sources have confirmed that actress Brittany Murphy has died at the age of 32. Reports first surfarced on TMZ.com and have since been backed up by numerous other outlets.
The actress went into full cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in LA. The AP reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call at the home of Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, and that afterwards one person was taken to hospital. Murphy was pronounced dead on arrival.
Brittany first came to film prominence in Clueless, and her star grew with roles in movies like Girl Interrupted, Don’t Say A Word, 8 Mile, Just Married, Uptown Girl and Sin City. She also had success as a voiceover artist in both Happy Feet and as Luanne in TV’s King Of The Hill.
Although at the moment there’s no further confirmed details on her death, she was recently fired from a film called The Caller, amid rumours that she and her husband were partying hard and taking drugs. Some are now wondering whether illegal substances may have contributed to her death, although at this stage it’s too early to say.
Murphy still has serveral films to be released, including the much anticipated The Expendables.
