I have to say that I’m rather intrigued by the idea of Clint Eastwood directing a supernatural thriller, as it seems so different to the sort of films he’s made before, but which could actually be an excellent fit for him. While Matt Damon has already been announced to star in Hereafter, Variety reports that a new cast member has joined in the form of Bryce Dallas Howard.
Written by Peter Morgan (who penned The Queen, and is again someone trying something new), Hereafter is about a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London schoolboy, who are all touched by death in different ways. Other than that, info on the plot is rather scarce, but as mentioned above, we do know that it’s a supernatural thriller.
Filming has already started on the movie, and will move around the world from Paris and London to Hawaii and San Francisco. Hereafter is currently set for a December 2010 release in the US. It’s undeniably impressive that despite the fact that he’s coming up for his 80th birthday, Eastwood is more prolific now than he’s ever been.
Next year should certainly be a good one for Bryce, as she’s got The Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond, Twilight: Eclipse and now Hereafter coming out, which isn’t a bad set of films to be involved with by any measure.
