We haven’t heard much from Dougray Scott recently. A few years ago he was making the likes of Mission: Impossible II and Enigma, but since then he’s largely turned up in a couple of TV roles and some forgettable movies, like Hitman. However he’s got a new film lined up which sounds rather intriguing.
Variety reports that he’s topining The Veil Of Maya, which is described as a Kafakesque romantic fantasy about a woman who travels back in time to undo a love relationship and avoid its tragic finale. It sounds as if there’ll be shades of Eternal Sunshine and The Time Traveler’s Wife in the movie, which isn’t necesarily a bad thing.
At the moment there’ no news on who will be playing the woman, although it appears Scott will be the man that she wants to avoid having fallen in love with. Diana Lustig (Wild Chery) is directing and filming will begin in London next month.
As well as Maya, Scott’s also in post-production on the BBC’s upcoming reinvention of The Day Of The Triffids, as well as on the films No Ordinary Trifle and There Be Dragons, so it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of him soon.
