The screenplay for Pictures Of You has been around for a while. It featured on 2007’s Black List, the annual round-up of the best unproduced screenplays doing the rounds in Hollywood. However despite that accolade, it’s still never gone before the cameras.
Now there’s some movement though, with Variety reporting that Youth In Revolt producer David Permut is teaming up with Dave Gross and Jesse Shapira to try and get Josh Friedlander’s romantic teen comedy to the screen. The film is set in a Florida resort town, and follows a teenage boy who finds a lost camera on the beach. On it he discovers pictures of a woman who quickly becomes the girl of his dreams, and so inevitably he sets out to find her. It’s odd how many romantic comedies make it sound like they’re about a creepy stalker when you just have a bare-bones plot to go on.
There’s no news yet on when the film might get made, or indeed who might direct and star in the film.
