The indie drama Waska has certainly put together a nice little cast for itself, full of actors who may not be at the top of the a-list, but certainly bring a sense of class to the film. Entourage star Jeremy Piven and Private Practice’s Kate Walsh are headlining the ensemble flick, which will also star Thomas Dekker (Sarah Connor Chronicles), Lynn Collins (Wolverine), Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern and Joseph Morgan.
The word ‘waska’ apparently refers to the first snowfall of each year, which according to Variety “is magical but often treacherous”. The story is set at that time of year, and centres of a father who loses his young son during a snowstorm, which throws the community into disarray as they desperately try to find him. The film will be based on the novel Angel’s Crest by Leslie Schwartz, with Gaby Dellal directing.
To be honest it all sounds a bit like The ICe Storm, although if it’s half as good as that film, we’re in for a treat.Waska has just started filming in Canada.
