I’m quite glad it’s only a couple of weeks until Avatar hits cinemas, as I’m starting to feel I’ve already the movie following the endless featurettes and trailers that have been released. This one is far better than most though. It’s a 10-minute Fox Movie Channel ‘Making A Scene’ featurette, which takes a close look at the making of the movie, with James Cameron and others discussing the complex creation of the movie, including exactly how they used performance capture to create the CG sections of the movie, and how even the flightpaths of some of the creatures were performance captured, using wire models and even horses to give an idea of the movement that was needed. It’s well worth a watch, with plenty of fascinating backstage footage, so click below to take a look. Avatar hits UK cinemas on December 17th.
