Here’s an interesting idea. Documentarian Thomas Balmes has followed four babies from around the world – the US, Namibia, Mongolia and Japan – from birth to their first steps, showing quite how different and yet unversal the experience of our earliest moments are, all across the world. It may be cute overload, but it’s a great idea and could make a fascinating movie. Babies, which was based on an ideas by Algerian born but France raised writer/director/producer Alain Chabat (Napoleon in Night at the Museum 2), is due out in select US cinemas next February, although there’s no news on when it’s arriving in the UK.
