Following the success of Zombieland, which didn’t cost a lot to make but has raked in millions around the world, it’s not particularly surprising that there’s talk of a sequel. Director Ruben Fleishcer has been chatting about the possibilities for Zombieland 2, and not only confirmed that Sony now seems to be on-board for a follow-up, but that any new sequel may may be in 3D.
Fleischer told Moviehole, “the genre really lend itself to 3D”, and that he now believes the technology reached the stage where it can really make 3D films worthwhile. He also confirmed that all of the main actors, including Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, are ready to step back into the zombie killing world.
However at the moment the main sticking point is pinning down the story. They haven’t quite managed that yet, and so it’ll be a couple of years yet until we see Zombieland 2 in 3D.
