Harrison Ford likes saving families in his movies, and this time around he’s donning a white coat to play a doctor who agrees to help John and Aileen Crowley (Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell), who have two children with an incurable gentic disease, Pompe Diesease, that will inevitably kill them if something can’t be done. Despite the parents having no money and the doctor seemingly little hope (according to conventional wisdom, anyway), they set up a bio-tech company and work together to find a cure. It all seems a bit Lorenzo’s Oil, but this based-on-a-true-story tale could nevertheless be pretty uplifting (or cheesy, we’ll have to wait and see). Click below to watch the new trailer. Extraordinary Measures is due in UK cinemas on February 26th, 2010. You can also CLICK HERE to watch a featurette about the real John Crowley and the true story behind the film.
