A couple of years ago it seemed that everything Reese Witherspoon touched turned to gold, with a run of hits including Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama, as well as an Oscar for Walk The Line, but since then she’s only appeared in a few movies, and none of them have been great.
However she’ll hopefully turn that around with Rule #1, which she’s attached to produce and star in. THR reports that Terrel Seltzer has just sold her original screenplay for the movie to Fox Seachlight, which came to the studio with Witherspoon already on-board. The movie will be about a New York woman who befriends a Puerto Rican girl with attention deficit disorder.
There’s no news on what tone the movie will have, although as Seltzer has previously mainly worked on comedies like How To Get Into College and One Fine Day, we can only hope that this won’t just be about all the hilarity of ADD.
There’s no news on when the film will go into production, and so it will just have to join the ever growing list of movies Witherspoon is attached to but which have yet to go before the cameras, including Around The World In 80 Dates, Used Guys, Bell Witch, Tokyo Suckepunch and numerous others. Hopefully she’ll get around to making at least one of them sometime soon.
