Keanu Reeves hasn’t had a huge amount of luck with romantic comedies (probably because he can’t act) but he’s hoping to turn that around with Henry’s Crime, which he signed up to a couple of months ago. The film, which has been described as a Capra-esque, is about a big-hearted man who is falsely accused of robbing a bank in Buffalo, New York.
Now Variety reports that Reeves has some co-stars in the form of Vera Farmiga and James Caan. Farmiga, who will soon be seen opposite George Clooney in Up In The Air, will play Keanu’s love interest in the film. There’s no news on what screen veteran Caan will be doing in the movie, but in our opinion, any decision to cast him in a movie is a good one.
Screewriter Sacha Gervasi (who also directed Anvil!) has previous described the film as “a twisted, romantic comedy, very dark and funny… [about] a Buffalo toll both attendant in the middle of an existential crisis.” Sounds like it could be an interesting one. With 44-Inch Chest director Malcolm Neville helming, Henry’s crime is due to start filming later this year.
