The new Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedy, The Other Guys, has beefed up its cast with THR reporting that Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton and Damon Wayans Jr are joining the cast of the movie. The film is due to be directed by Adam McKay (Step Brothers), who co-wrote the script with Chris Henchy (Land Of The Lost), and is billed as an action buddy comedy about a couple of cops. From the film’s initial working title, The B Team, it sounds like maybe these are the policemen you don’t really want on the case, but who are forced to step up and give their a-game.
There’s no news yet on what roles Keaton, Mendes and Wayans will be playing in the film, and indeed the makers seem to be trying to keep as much as they can about the movie under wraps, even though it’s due to start filming soon, for release next summer.
However it’s certainly a large roster of people, all of whom could do with a bit of a career boost after a series of flops, so let’s hope that The Other Guys gives it to them.
