It really is turning into a full-on drip feed of posters for Guy Ritchie’s new take on Sherlock Holmes. At this rate by its Christmas release we’ll have a one-sheet for everyone in the movie, including the extras. The latest to get his own poster is Blackwood, played by Mark Strong, who’s Holmes’ (Robert Downey Jr.) main adversary in the movie.
There’s also been a fair amount of speculation lately about whether Holmes and Watson (Jude Law) will be gay in the movie, largely because they share a bed and the actors have been talking about their complicated relationship. However most of this seems to be vaguely homophobic speculation on the part of newspapers, who seem to assume two men can’t possibly like each other in a movie unless they’re shagging.
Anyway, take a look below to see the new poster, and don’t be surprised if in the next few weeks we get new posters featuring Eddie Marsan’s Inspector Lestrade and Kelly Reilly’s Mary Morstan (click HERE and HERE to see the previous released Sherlock Holmes character posters featuring Downey Jr, Law and Rachael McAdams). Sherlock Holmes opens on Boxing Day.
