In a report from Variety, Morgan Freeman is said to be in talks to appear in the DC Comics adaptation, Red, alongside Bruce Willis. The three book series, which was first published in 2003 and 2004, tells the story of former black-ops CIA agent Paul Moses who is now living a quiet life in retirement. However when the new director of the CIA learns about what Moses used to get up to, he panics and sends high-tech assassins after the trained operative.
Although it isn’t known yet what role Freeman is in talks for, the speculation is that he’ll either be the main bad guy, or a former ally of Moses who’s also brought out of retirement to help the former CIA agent (the screenplay apparently has includes Moses getting his old-school friends together to take on the tech-heavy modern operatives).
There’s no news yet on when the movie might reach cinemas.
