Today’s movie that everyone though Robert Rodriguez was directing, but now it turns out he isn’t, is Predators, the new ‘official sequel’ in the Predator franchise. Instead Descent and Dog Solidiers director Neill Marshall is apparently in talks to take the helm of the project.
At the moment it’s just a rumour, but it does appear Rodriguez is only interested in a producing credit for the film that is due to be made through his Troublemake Studios. The appointment of Marshall would be good news for those worried that the Predator franchise might be watered down and made more teen friendly, and with him and Rodriguez on board, you’d almost be guaranteed some heavy duty gore.
Whoever directs it, they’d better appoint someone pretty soon, as Fox is fast tracking the movie for release next summer.
