It’s getting difficult to know whether to believe a word that comes out of Sam Raimi’s mouth. While only a couple of weeks ago he said he had no idea if Kirsten Dunst would be back for the fourth instalment of Spider-man, producer Todd Black has now said she definitely will be.
Likewise, while Raimi has hinted about numerous villains, other have said completely different things. It could be that he’s keeping the rumour mill going and building the hype, but it is starting to appear that he might be the least reliable source on his own movie.
From what Raimi has said, many thought the villain would be Morbius the vampire, however Black has said it won’t be, adding rather cryptically, “We’ll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it’ll be a big part of New York.” Many have thought this means it’ll be either Kraven The Hunter or The Kingpin, although it’s unlikely to be the latter as that character was included in 20th Century Fox’s deal with Marvel for Daredevil. At moment all that’s known is it will be one of the villains from the comics and not something invented for the film.
