Fans of the quirky and funny Danny McBride will be pleased to know that Warner has bought the rights to the graphic novel Hench as a possible starring vehicle for the Pineapple Express star. The graphic novel by Adam Beechen and Manny Bello is about an American football player who needs a job after a career ending injury and ends up signing on to be the henchman for a successful villain, but after several years in the job he begins to wonder how his life became so crazy.
McBride’s star continues to rise after stints in Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder and the upcoming Land Of The Lost, and it now looks like the studios are starting to thinking of him as a possible leading man, and it does sound like the graphic novel could be a great vehicle for his talents.
